When attending a pole dancing class, it's essential to wear clothing that allows for ease of movement and facilitates proper grip on the pole. We recommend opting for attire that exposes some skin, as skin contact with the pole is crucial for grip during spins and tricks. Ideal options include 'booty' shorts, athletic skorts, or similarly minimal bottoms, paired with a tank top, sports bra, or crop top. It's important to refrain from applying oils, lotions, or moisturizers before class, as these can create slippery surfaces on both your hands and legs, posing safety hazards during your practice.
Additionally, we advise removing any jewelry before starting your session to prevent damage to the pole's surface and reduce the risk of injury or discomfort, such as blisters. You may want to have long hair tied back if you are inverting. Prioritizing appropriate attire and grooming practices enhances both the safety and enjoyment of your pole dancing experience.
Many pole dancers initially begin their practice barefoot before gradually incorporating heels into their routines. However, the decision to wear heels is entirely optional and based on personal preference. Our studio accommodates both barefoot and heel-wearing participants, with rugs readily available that can be easily rolled back to facilitate pole dancing in heels. If you choose to wear heels, we recommend opting for those specifically designed for pole dancing, with Pleaser brand being a popular choice among enthusiasts.
While not mandatory, wearing heels in pole dancing class can offer several benefits. The elevated platform of the shoes enables better grip higher on the pole, providing more space for swinging and executing tricks. Additionally, the weight of the shoes aids in transitioning between moves and elongating the legs in a flattering manner.
Absolutely! We encourage you to capture your pole dancing journey through photos and videos. Feel free to document your progress and memorable moments during your sessions. Whether it's a stunning spin, a successful trick, or simply a fun practice session, we believe that sharing your experiences through visual media is a fantastic way to celebrate your achievements and inspire others. Don't hesitate to snap as many pictures and record as much footage as you'd like. And don't forget to tag your instructor on social media so she can join in on celebrating your accomplishments!
You're welcome to bring a support person along with you to your class. However, for safety reasons, we kindly ask that they remain seated during your session to avoid any accidental contact with moving bodies! If you're interested in having your friend join you in the class, that's fantastic! Classes with two or more participants require prior instructor approval (email here) are extended to 1.5 hours, with an additional fee of $15 for the second student. While we appreciate your desire to involve a support person, we advise against bringing small children (under 8) to class, as the environment is not suitable for their safety.
Absolutely not! Pole dancing is for everyone, regardless of age. Age is not a barrier when it comes to taking care of your body and pursuing your fitness goals. It's inspiring to see individuals in their 70s thriving in pole dancing and showcasing their skills on social media platforms. Teenagers are also welcome to join, with parental consent required through a signed waiver. Pole dancing is a versatile activity that doesn't demand prior experience.
Whether you're a complete beginner or have some familiarity with the sport, there's always something new to learn and master. However, if you have any medical concerns, we recommend consulting with a health professional before starting your pole dancing journey to ensure it's suitable for you.
Your first pole dancing class promises to be an exciting and invigorating experience! Get ready to have fun while discovering the exhilarating challenges that pole dancing offers. Each session begins with a thorough warm-up to prepare your body for the movements ahead. You'll then receive step-by-step instruction on various pole techniques and tricks, with plenty of time provided for you to practice and refine your skills.
As you immerse yourself in your new pole journey, expect to engage muscles you may never have felt worked before—pole dancing is a full-body workout that combines strength conditioning, cardiovascular exercise, and sensual dance moves to leave you feeling empowered and confident. It's not uncommon for beginners to experience a few minor bruises as they familiarize themselves with the pole, but these are badges of progress and fade over time. After your first class, you may encounter a phenomenon known as delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS), which might leave you feeling a bit stiff or sore a day or two later. Rest assured, this is completely normal and a sign that your body is adapting to the new challenges. With regular practice, you'll soon notice improvements in strength, flexibility, and overall fitness.
Above all, your first class is an opportunity to discover the joy and excitement of pole dancing while embarking on a journey of self-discovery and empowerment. Get ready to wow yourself—and anyone you choose to share your newfound talent with!

The decision to purchase a pole is entirely up to you and your individual preferences. While it's not necessary to buy a pole right away, you may find that as you progress in your pole dancing journey, you'll benefit from supplementing your studio sessions with home practice.
If you're considering purchasing a pole, there are several factors to take into account. It's important to choose a pole that suits your needs and skill level. Stay tuned for my upcoming guide on Buying A Fitness Pole, where I'll provide valuable insights and tips to help you make an informed decision.
For aerial tricks, the weight limit for our pole is set at 250 lbs. However, for ground-based dancing moves, there isn't a weight limit. It's important to note that weight limitations on the pole are determined by the manufacturer's specifications and the instructor's ability to safely spot you during maneuvers. Your safety and comfort are our top priorities, so if you have any concerns or questions regarding weight limits, please don't hesitate to discuss them with us.
Our cancellation and refund policy is designed to ensure fair scheduling and accommodate unexpected circumstances while respecting the time and commitment of both our studio and instructors.
